Top 10 of the pests
It is impossible to get used to living with cockroaches or bedbugs. Pests at home are not only unpleasant to look at, but dangerous to people’s health. There are species of plagues that always accompany us, others in some stages of their life, sometimes only sometimes.
That is why we are going to name and make a short description of 10 types of plagues more frequent in human environment.
As we know, cockroaches from very, very old times live with us. They invade the dark, damp and warm places, full of food. They find the food that is on the table, in the trash can or, if they do not find the organic remains, they eat paper, plastic or glue.
Germanic, German or common cockroach (Blattella germanica) is the “owner” of the kitchen. If you have the house infested by this cockroach and one night, suddenly you turn on the light, you can see how cockroaches are in a hurry to hide in dark places, making a “crunchy” sound with their paws.
They are in the cavity of the walls, in the motors of the appliances, in the kitchen cupboards, in the garbage containers. During the search for food, they can traverse the surfaces of the table, the food, leaving bacteria and excrement over everything they touch.
American cockroach (Periplaneta americana) is the sewer cockroach. But, lately, they also often enter private homes, bars and restaurants that almost always have their doors open. Be careful, if you enter the females with ootheques and leave the ootheca in a place inside your house, you can have the plague of this disgusting cockroach.
And, the last most common species, is the black or oriental cockroach (Blatta orientalis). This cockroach is not as unpleasant as the first two. Where we most often find them is in very humid and dark places: under the stones, near the outside taps, garages, etc.
2. BED CHEST
If we say that the cockroach is the “owner” of the kitchens, the bed bug is the “queen” of the bedrooms. It is the other species of pests that lives in our houses. This can not exist without human blood or other warm-blooded living beings because it needs you for food and growth. It is nocturnal, at night it leaves its hiding place to feed itself. It causes annoying bites and causes anxiety in people who itch.
In number three we find the rodents. The black rat (Rattus rattus), gray rat (Rattus norvegicus) and domestic mouse (Mus muscles).
These rodents are diners of humans. Dangerous as vectors of disease, damage to buildings, walls, cables; Contaminate the food, water with urine, excrement, saliva, etc.
Ants are not as horrible as the previous species, they are intelligent and hardworking. But if the nest is established inside the house you have to forget about a quiet life. You can find them in the food, on the table, inside the kitchen cupboards and … in the shoe. The most frequent species are: the black, the pharaoh, the Argentine and the carpenter.
The Mosquito can enter our house through the open windows. It stings as much at night as during the day. The bites are very painful and annoying and can become infected by scratching.
Fleas can appear at home introducing themselves from the outside or if you have an infested pet. They are external parasites, transmit pathogens and are vectors in the transmission of diseases from one living being to another.
Ticks as well as fleas are also hematophagous insects and transmitters of very dangerous diseases.
8. DOMESTIC FLY
Flies are flying insects and can touch anything anywhere. They transmit bacteria, viruses or other microorganisms from one surface to another. They can lay eggs inside the corpse of a rat and in 5 minutes touch the bread or the uncovered food that is on the table.
They establish their nests on the roof, chimney, in the cavities of the walls … Sometimes to eliminate the nest we have to open the wall to reach it. Wasps are aggressive and itch several times without being provoked. Hornets sting only when provoked.
10. BEETLE OF THE BREAD
It is one of the many species of insects that we can find in stored products. Infest many food products such as bread, flour, nuts, cocoa, stored grains, tobacco … The female leaves the eggs on top of the products and the larvae develop there.
Pests are not limited to these species alone. You can continue with the list and extend it. In this article we have presented the most common species of pests in homes, premises, bars, restaurants, hotels, etc. There are many more species and it is important to understand that each type of pest, even if it is harmless as the silver fish, creates a negative impact on people’s lives and better for us to have spaces free of any kind of pests.
